Hurdle Jump

Exercise procedure

Coordination training for the goalkeeper, involving jumps over a hurdle before the goal shot, with many different variations. Think about which other jump configurations can be carried out. We have outlined the standard varieties in the animations. Just like in the “changes of direction” exercise, the most difficult part for the goalkeeper is the movement he has to make before the goal shot is carried out.

Description

With his legs together, the goalkeeper jumps over a flat hurdle of cone markers. The goalkeeper’s eyes are always on the ball. After jumping over the hurdle, the coach makes the goal shot. The goalkeeper saves the ball. Attention: this is a very intensive exercise for the goalkeeper. Be sure to plan in plenty of breaks.

Variations

- Jump forwards-backwards-forwards over the hurdle before the goal shot
- Different varieties of jump

Soccer coach tips

- Correct errors individually
- Increase the speed and strength of the shot.
