Puskas - TrickNext exercise

Soccer drill procedure

Ferenc Puskas was captain of the legendary Hungarian national team in the final of 1954. He died 2006 but his trick remains as prominent today as they were in the fifties. This trick must not be absent from modern soccer training!

By the forward movement sidewise past the opponent, the defender needs to accelerate, followed by abrupt stopping of the ball and change in direction. If this drill is not done correctly, the defender cannot react properly.

Description

Raise the right leg over the ball, then draw the ball backwards with the heel. Thereafter follows the change in direction with the sidefoot. Have a good look at the animation!

Variations

- Always train using both legs!
- Practice the trick with a passive defender

Soccer coach tips

- Correct errors individually!
